In China, Vivo has released their new smartphone, the Vivo Y55s 5G. This is a smartphone that has the most different combination of specifications from the previous generation. The naming is indeed the exact same as the series that has been present since 2017, therefore it is given the “5G” appendage. In the previous series, Vivo has never presented a smartphone with a large capacity. Even the flagship series is not up to 5,000 mAh. Unlike the Vivo Y55s 5G which is included in the entry-level class. This smartphone is the device with the heaviest weight. Has the largest battery capacity currently for Vivo’s own release.
VIVO Y55s 5G specifications
The appearance of this smartphone is like a combination of a mid-range series with a flagship. Apart from Vivo’s signature gradient color options, the camera module of this smartphone looks like the Vivo X70. However, there are only two sensor setups, such as entry-level smartphones. It comes with a standard profile of 9.17mm and weighs 199.8 grams. Actually, this smartphone is not too heavy, compared to the iPhone 13 Pro which weighs over 200 grams. The front screen display is very standard, still using the waterdrop notch. Full HD + resolution screen, IPS panel, and 60Hz refresh rate only.
Likewise with the chipset used. Although MediaTek has released several of the more modern Dimensity series, Vivo still relies on the Dimensity 700 series. However, it uses modern 7nm fabrication for power efficiency. Paired with 8GB of RAM which can be expanded up to 12GB. Takes up some of the unused portions of the 128GB internal storage.
In addition to the 8MP front camera, the rear camera setup of this smartphone is quite simple. The main sensor is 50MP resolution, while the secondary sensor is a 2MP macro camera. Without a depth sensor, the results of portrait photos will take advantage of digital processing. The camera mode is also quite complete, including Dual View Video.
Able to Play Videos Up to 20 Hours
This smartphone has a large battery capacity, which is 6,000 mAh. This makes this smartphone the Vivo smartphone with the largest battery today. Vivo Y55s 5G is claimed to be able to play music for up to 160 hours, stream video for up to 20 hours, and play games for 13 hours non-stop. Supported by 18W Flash Charge, via the USB Type-C port. can also switch functions into a power bank via the reverse charging feature.
The Vivo Y55s 5G will go on sale in China with three color options. But until now there is still no exact date, nor availability globally. But the price itself has been announced, which is $266.72.
