After previously Samsung released the Odyssey G9, now they are releasing its successor called the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9. This gaming monitor is priced at $2500.
Specifications Samsung Odyssey Neo G9
Comes with a size of 49 inches and a curved screen. This monitor panel uses Mini LED lighting with a maximum brightness level of 2,000 nits. There’s also a full array of local lighting with 2,048 zones that produces deeper blacks and a more stunning HDR mode. The panel used is a Quantum Matrix-type with Quantum HDR support. Panels like this are usually used by Samsung in their high-end TVs. This of course makes sense considering the price of the Odyssey Neo G9 which is quite expensive.
This Mini LED technology is referred to by Samsung as Quantum Mini LED. Uses 1/40 sized LED of a standard size LED. Samsung claims this technology can produce a better resolution. Produces a clear difference between light and dark, through dark levels reaching 0.0004 nits.
This mini LED allows the screen to have a contrast level close to that of an OLED panel. But without the risk of burn-in in OLED panels, as quoted from Tomshardware. The screen which has a curvature of 1000R has a response time of 1ms and a screen resolution of 5,210 x 1,440 pixels with a screen ratio of 32:9. This monitor also supports variable refresh rates via AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-Sync via DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 ports. This Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 can be ordered on July 29, 2021.
