Finally, Redmi officially released the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition smartphone. Xiaomi released this gaming smartphone for the first time in China. This smartphone is the first Redmi device to have gaming capabilities.

Quoted from GSM Arena, Redmi K40 Gaming has a rear camera design that is slightly different from the regular version. However, it still has three cameras. While the front camera still carries a punch hole shape and is in the middle. Redmi K40 Gaming has dimensions of 161.9 mm x 76.9 mm x 8.3 mm and weighs 205 grams. Comes with many color choices, Black, Gray, Silver, and Bruce Lee Yellow.

This gaming smartphone has a 6.67 inch OLED screen. It has a 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, support for 10-bit or 1 billion colors, HDR10 +, 50 nits brightness, 1080 x 2400 pixel resolution, and a screen to body ratio of 86.3%. On the front and back, Redmi K40 Gaming is coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

On the back, this smartphone has 3 cameras. There is a main 54MP camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, and 2MP macro camera. While in front there is a 16MP selfie camera. Redmi K40 relies on the MediaTek Dimensity 1000 chipset. It has internal storage and RAM options consisting of 6GB/128GB, 8G/128GB, 8GB/256GB, 12GB/128GB, and 12GB/256GB. This smartphone runs the Android 11 operating system and the MIUI 12.5 interface.

Redmi K40 Gaming also has physical buttons on both sides. However, this smartphone does not have Cooler technology in the form of a fan. This is because cooling is done through a combination of graphene, graphite, and a steam room.

As for the battery, the Redmi K40 has a battery with a capacity of 5.065 mAh. Already supports 67W fast charging. Redmi claims this smartphone can be fully charged in just 42 minutes. As for other features, namely the 5G network, Dual SIM, IP53 Certification, Fingerprint Sensor, USB-C, as well as JBL and Dolby Atmos speakers.


Redmi K40 Gaming Edition will be launched on April 30 in China. The smartphone is priced at $308.95 for the 6GB/128GB version. Whereas $339.86 for the 8GB/128GB version, and $370.77 for the 8GB/256GB version, and 12GB/128GB. While the highest version, 12GB/256GB, is priced at $417.14. There is also a Bruce Lee edition of the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition which has 12GB /256GB memory, selling for $432.59.
