Design
Although at first glance there is no change with its predecessor, namely OPPO Reno 4, OPPO chose to increase the color variant on this smartphone with a more graded Reno Glow dye technique. Having a textured back makes this smartphone won’t leave fingerprint marks on the back. There are two variants offered by OPPO Reno 5, namely, Starry Black with a glossy finish and Fantasy Silver which is the hero color. For the second color, the rear body is 0.1mm thicker because OPPO provides six layers to make the rear body emit seven colors that change color according to the lighting. This unique design makes you the center of attention. The weight of the OPPO Reno 5 is still relatively light at 171 grams. The back material is made of polycarbonate so it is comfortable to hold.
Screen & Battery
This smartphone screen measures 6.4 inches with Full HD + resolution and uses an AMOLED panel. The fingerprint sensor has also been embedded under the screen with a high degree of accuracy and responsiveness. OPPO Reno 5 also supports a refresh rate of up to 90Hz with a 180Hz touch sampling rate which allows you to watch videos at high resolution and the screen feels smoother. The screen-to-body ratio reaches 91.7%.
OPPO also puts protection on this smartphone screen in the form of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and the SGS Eyecare Display technology which can reduce blue light emission for your eye protection. There is also a customizable Always On Display and edge lighting effect for incoming calls and messages. OPPO Reno 5 also automatically covers message details in the notification and notification windows, waiting until you can personally see them.
The OPPO Reno 5 battery has a capacity of 4,310mAh which when normal use of this smartphone can last all day. OPPO also provides this smartphone with 50W Flash Charging technology. OPPO also claims that by charging for 5 minutes, you can play video for 3 hours. Another thing that is not less important is that the OPPO Reno 5 supports the Super VOOC Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 protocol and 15W Power Delivery. OPPO also provides a Super VOOC 65W charger in the sales package. OPPO also added 5 layers of protection to prevent harm from the battery to the adapter.
Camera
OPPO Reno 5 has four rear cameras, including a 64MP main camera coupled with an 8MP Ultra-Wide Sensor, a 2MP Macro camera, and a 2MP Mono camera. While the front camera has a 44MP resolution. The front and rear cameras are also equipped with the AI Scene Recognition feature to improve photo quality based on the detection of objects in the frame. There is also an AI Highlight Video feature that automatically detects ambient light and improves video quality by applying the Ultra Night Video Algorithm and the Live HDR Algorithm. Then there is the AI Mixed Portrait which will present a double exposure video effect. Dual-View Video allows you to record video from the front and rear cameras at the same time.
Performance
OPPO Reno 5 is the first smartphone to run ColorOS 11.1, using the base Android 11. This smartphone also still has the Smart AirControl feature which allows you to pick up the phone and scroll through the Instagram display only through hand movements in front of the camera. There has also been an NFC feature on this smartphone. The OPPO Reno 5 is powered by a 720G Snapdragon Chipset with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The multitasking process also runs smoothly, playing the Call of Duty Mobile game runs smoothly with the right alignment setting. OPPO Reno 5 can handle multiple applications simultaneously without lag. There’s Dolby Atmos technology that makes every song and video feel like an immediate experience.
Conclusion
This smartphone has an AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of up to 90Hz, has an economical battery too, supports 50W Flash Charge, a quality camera, and advanced features for video and NFC.
