In addition to premium smartwatches, Huawei also presents the smart band as one of the most popular devices. The new smart band is the Huawei Band 7 which has a relatively small increase.

The previous generation, Band 6 is one of the best smart bands in its class. The combination of a large screen, full features, and an affordable price is the main attraction of this device. Then what about this latest generation? what improvements are there in this Huawei Band 7?

At first glance, the appearance of this device looks the same as the previous generation. But actually, Band 7 is designed to be thinner and lighter. Its thickness is only 9.99mm and is claimed to be the thinnest for a smart band or fitness tracker. It weighs only 16 grams and uses the same material, using a polycarbonate strap. There are four colors and the body follows the color of the strap.

The screen dimensions are still the same, already quite large for a smart band, reaching 1.47 inches. The resolution is 194 x 368 pixels, uses an AMOLED panel and there is no information regarding always-on-display support. The large screen uses a 2.5D glass surface that supports touch input and no buttons at all on the front.

The screen dimensions are more convenient for monitoring health information or monitoring incoming notifications. There are around 7,000 watch face options available within the Huawei app. For the water-resistance factor, it already has a 5ATM certification that can be used for swimming. There is also a variant with an NFC sensor for users in China.

Regarding health features, Huawei Band 7 can be said to have complete features. Starting from tracking oxygen saturation in the blood, heart rate, period counter for female users, and stress monitoring. Huawei also has its own calculation method to provide exercise advice and health patterns according to each user.

For sleep quality tracking, Huawei detects it through the TruSleep 2.0 algorithm. The algorithm, developed by Huawei over four years, is capable of detecting via infrared light. Likewise, Huawei TruRelax, is the result of joint development with the Institute of Psychology, Chinse Academy of Sciences.

In total, there are 96 types of sports that you can use in Band 7. However, six of them can be detected automatically. So there is no need to start manually. For battery life, you can use this smart band for up to 14 days, while for GPS, you still need to rely on a smartphone. Huawei Band 7 sells for CNY269 or around USD40.18 and the NFC version sells for CNY309 or around USD46.16.
