MediaTek announced two of their newest on-chip systems, the Helio G96 and Helio G88. These two SoCs allow manufacturers to present smartphones that have photographic advantages. CH Chen, Deputy General Manager of Wireless Communication Products at MediaTek’s Wireless Business Group said, “With the launch of the Helio G96 and Helio G88, MediaTek is bringing new SoCs to enhance display and photography to key markets.”

SoC Helio G96 has support for a Full HD+ resolution screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Provides smoother scrolling of web pages and animations in various applications. This 120Hz Helio G96 display support has no limitations in DDIC supply, C-phy or D-phy interfaces, and supports both LCD or AMOLED displays. Super-sized 108MP main camera that produces detailed images. Integrated fast Cat-13 4G LTE World Mode modem. Dual 4G SIM and VoLTE and ViLTE services. Also Networking Engine and Intelligent Resource Management Engine.
MediaTek Helio G88 Features
While the SoC Helio G88 supports a 90Hz refresh rate. It has an Octa-core CPU consisting of two Arm Cortex-A75 CPUs. Capable of operating up to 2.0GHz. Produce responsive reactions, loading applications, and fast image capture. Helio G88 brings main camera support up to 64MP. As well as a hardware depth engine for dual-camera bokeh capture. It has a Camera Control Unit (CCU) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and Rolling Shutter Compensation (RSC) technology. It has integrated Voice Wakeup and Dual 4G VoLTE.
These two MediaTek chipsets will provide better overall performance on mid-range to high-end smartphones. But unfortunately, it has not been informed when the smartphone powered by the two chipsets will be released to the market.
