Dyson, which is known as a company that manufactures household appliances, is now starting to venture into the audio business. This time, Dyson launched an audio device as well as an air purifier called the Dyson Zone headphones.

By design, these devices are similar to typical headphones with large round earcups and padding around the ears. It’s just that these headphones have air purifier technology. This device has a detachable air purifier technology.

The design covers the mouth and nose and is equipped with an electrostatic filter that can filter out acid gases and air pollution. The company claims the filter will block 99% of particles, including those as small as 0.1 microns, and can last up to 12 months. According to Dyson, this device is the answer for urban communities experiencing air pollution problems. Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO), air pollution is a global problem in developing countries.

The filtration system and air distribution mechanism in this device is specifically designed to address air pollution problems. Precision-engineered compressor spins up to 9750rpm. Passes air through a double-layer filter to fit enough space in the headphones. In particular, these headphones capture urban gaseous pollutants such as NO2, SO2, and O3, as well as unpleasant urban odors.

In terms of audio, these headphones are designed to minimize sound distortion. Able to reduce urban noise up to 40 decibels. In addition, there is an Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) feature which is paired with a 40 mm neodymium driver. Claimed to be able to present a special and immersive audio listening experience. Even though a unique EQ setting, Dyson Zone is able to optimize the frequency curve for clearer and clearer audio. Thus providing a high-fidelity audio experience.

The device supports the MyDyson companion apps for audio equalization called Dyson EQ, Neutral, and Bass Boost. Not only that, but this device also supports SBC, AAC, LHDC, and Bluetooth 5.0 audio codec files.

As for the battery, this device can be used in full condition via USB-C for up to 50 hours for audio mode only. These new headphones will be available on pre-order for US$949. The price of these headphones is quite expensive, but seeing the features it has, of course, the price offered is still quite reasonable.
