Finally, ASUS ROG has officially released the ASUS ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro globally. Like the previous generation, this series will also be available in three variants, namely ROG Phone 6, 6 Pro, and 6 Ultimate. The difference between the non-Pro and Pro models lies in the LPDDR RAM capacity of up to 18GB.
Sascha Krohn, Director of Technical Marketing at Asus said, “This smartphone offers extraordinary specifications that compare or even beat laptops or PCs”. This sixth generation comes with a futuristic sci-fi design with two color options; Storm White and Phantom Black. As for the Pro variant, it appears exclusively in Storm White color and has the words “Dare to Play” that can be lit on the back.
ASUS ROG Phone 6 Series Specifications
As a gaming smartphones, both are powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The chipset is claimed to be able to deliver a responsive mobile gaming experience. ASUS embeds a 6.78-inch Samsung AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2449px coated with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. Using ROG’s exclusive tuning technology delivers a refresh rate of 165Hz. It even has a touch sampling rate of 720Hz and an ultra-low touch latency of 23ms.
In addition, this smartphone also has 2 ultrasonic buttons that can be customized. The smartphone is also IPX4 splash resistant. This smartphone is equipped with X-Haptic Vibration technology which is capable of producing a vibration frequency of up to 130Hz and increasing power efficiency by up to 20%. ROG also introduced an edge tool that can display the user’s favorite applications on the side of the screen. That way you can open other applications without having to exit the game.
In order to get the most out of gaming, ASUS has installed a GameFX audio system. It features dual seven-magnet symmetrical speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack. This smartphone has a Dirac Virtuo spatial audio solution that uses an immersive stereo sound algorithm, even from the internal speakers. ASUS has upgraded the GameCool 6 cooling system with a 30% larger vapor chamber than the previous series. With an 85% larger graphite sheet, it can reduce the heat temperature more quickly.
Has New Features
There are additional accessories in the form of an Aeroactive Cooler 6 with an ergonomic design on the back. These additional accessories are not only claimed to lower the temperature of the smartphone. But it also functions as a physical button that users can use while playing games.
For camera matters, this smartphone has a main lens from a Sony IMX766 resolution 50MP. In addition, there is also a 13MP Ultra Wide lens and 5MP Macro lens. While the selfie camera has an IMX663 sensor 12MP. Both variants still use a 6,000 mAh battery which is split into two 3,000 mAh cells. There are dual USB-C ports, one on the bottom and one on the side. Wired charging is still limited to 65W. The operating system used is ROG UI and Zen UI on Android 12.
ASUS has also released its signature ROG Kunai gamepad for the ROG Phone 6 series as well as the new ROG Cetra True Wireless and Cetra True Wireless Pro earbuds. The ROG Phone 6 with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage will retail for EUR 999 or around USD 1015,33. While the Pro variant with 18GB RAM and 512GB storage costs EUR 1.299 or around USD 1320,55.
