Apple is currently reportedly developing two new iPad Pro models that will use OLED screens. Two new iPad Pro models are expected to launch in the first quarter of 2024 in two different sizes, namely 11.1 inches and 13 inches. The information is shared by technical analyst Ross Young. Although reports for the iPad OLED are nothing new. This is the first time we have information about the 11.1-inch and 13-inch OLED iPad Pro size variants.
Not only that, this new model will also feature smaller bezels around the screen. In other words, the overall size of the new iPad Pro won’t change due to the smaller bezels. Last October, Apple introduced new versions of the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros with the newer M2 chipset. It is not impossible that the next iPad Pro model will increase in the presence of an OLED panel.
iPad Pro OLED Screen
Ross Young previously claimed that Apple also plans to release a 14.1-inch iPad Pro model in 2023. However, development on the iPad Pro is unlikely to continue and will change to an iPad with a 16-inch screen. Due to the use of this OLED screen, even though the screen size is larger, namely 11 inches and 12.9 inches. That’s because OLED panels only require thinner bezels.
The presence of this OLED panel should replace the mini LED panel used in the current 12.9-inch iPad Pro and the LED panel used in the 11-inch iPad Pro. Using such an OLED screen will also make the iPad on par with high-end Android tablets that already use OLED panels, such as the Galaxy Tab S series.
